• Body Fabric Consumption: At first, Merchandiser calculate the body fabric consumption. Merchandising have to consider adding extra 5 GSM against buyer requirement for knit item and reduce at least 2'' in width for woven item during consumption.
• Rib Consumption: A garments merchandiser should calculate the rib consumption very carefully. Sometimes the garments have rib at cuff opening and bottom hem.
• Neck tape Consumption: Neck tape consumption is also required if garments have nake tape option.
• Lining & others: Sometimes garments have to use lining or other decorative issue. That should also in consumption.
• Wastage estimation: For the knit items normally 10% shrinkage added. It is depend on different factors like print type. For all over print wastage% will increase and if garments have chest print it will decrease (9%). For pigment dye it will so high, near about 25-30% wastage for rejection
