Trims:
Trims refer to the essential components that are stitched directly into garments. These materials play a key role in the construction, functionality, and overall durability of clothing.
Types of Trims (Functional & Sewn-in):
- Fastening Elements: Buttons, zippers, snaps, hook-and-eye closures, and Velcro used to open and secure garments.
- Structural Components: Interlining, lining, shoulder pads, and tapes that help maintain shape and improve comfort.
- Functional Additions: Sewing threads, elastic bands, ribbons, drawstrings, eyelets, lace drawcords, appliqués, motifs, decorative tapes, and various logos that add both utility and style.
- Identification & Branding: Main labels, care instructions labels, and size labels that provide essential garment information.
Accessories:
Accessories are items used to enhance the appearance, packaging, and presentation of garments. Unlike trims, they are not always sewn onto the product.
Types of Accessories (Decorative & Packaging):
- Packaging Materials: Polybags, cartons, tissue papers, inner boards, and adhesive tapes used for safe packing and transport.
- Branding & Display Items: Hangtags, price tags, detachable tags, barcode stickers, and hangers that improve product presentation and identification.
- Supporting Materials: Plastic fasteners, safety stickers, and butterfly clips that assist in handling and packaging.
Note: Both trims and accessories are vital in the garment industry, as they contribute significantly to product quality, functionality, branding, and visual appeal.
